Getting Started
So you have seen Sport Kite competition(s) at the beach and you're thinking, I'd like to do that. If you are like most people, you are probably wondering what you need to do to get started. I know I did.
First of all, don't be thinkin' that you can't compete until you are a super duper kite flier first. To the contrary, if you wish to improve your flying skills more quickly and receive help from experienced (some world class) flyers, start competing and don't be afraid to ask questions. Just about any flyer is glad to help and loves to talk about kite flying, just ask. The most important thing to remember about competition, is to have a good time, enjoy the experience and come away a little better kite flyer than you were before. You will no doubt see things done that you hadn't even thought of before.
